Derek is our Head of IP and has led ProspectIP since February 2007 where he was primarily responsible for major aspects of ProspectIP’s management and operational performance, providing expertise in the development and delivery of a range of services to the company’s range of clients. Prior to joining ProspectIP Derek was the co-founder and Commercial Director of Reagent Mine Limited and Co-Founder and Managing Director of Kalibrant Limited. Both companies operated in the life science and biotechnology arena. His responsibilities included company strategy and technology development including product management, formulation of the commercialisation and IP strategy, and its exploitation. He helped secure £6m start-up and development capital from blue chip venture capitalists with other executive directors and successfully protected the technology with 12 granted patents in Europe, Far East and the US.
